Prestigious Charity Qualification For Three Chartered Accountants
Saint & Co Chartered Accountants are pleased to announce that three of their chartered accountants have now received the prestigious Diploma in Charity Accounting, awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. The Diploma is currently held by just over 600 people in the UK and demonstrates specific knowledge, understanding and experience of charity accounting and finance at the highest level.
Ian Scott, a partner at the Whitehaven branch has been working with charities for many years and was the first to acquire the qualification back in October 2008. He said:
“As with a number of business types, charity accounting is a specialist field. Charities will benefit from an accountant with this specific knowledge and experience, as they can provide the correct support and guidance to ensure the charity fulfills it’s regulatory obligations whilst helping to maximize the use of it’s funds”.
Carlisle Partner Stuart Farrer and fellow chartered accountant Sophie Tyson also gained the qualification in February this year. Stuart added:
“Saint & Co is committed to continually improving the knowledge and service we provide clients and attaining such qualifications demonstrates our ability to offer that little bit more. I am really pleased to be one of the few accountants in the country to hold this qualification, which gives charities another important option to consider when choosing an accountant”.
Although Ian, Stuart and Sophie are based in Whitehaven and Carlisle, their specialist knowledge can be accessed by other partners to assist their charity clients. They can also travel to meet clients at their premises or use one of Saint & Co’s ten local offices throughout Cumbria and South West Scotland.
