Charging VAT in the CIS: Make sure you are compliant
As you may have heard, HMRC on Friday 6th September decided to defer the introduction of the CIS Reverse Charge for VAT until 1 October, 2020 – a full 12 months deferment.
For this reason, we have decided to reschedule the event below until mid-2020.
Watch out nearer the time for details of where and when it will be held.

Saint & Co ladies go axe throwing for International Women’s Day
To mark International Women’s Day 2020, the female partners at local Carlisle Accounting firm Saint & Co turned their ‘out of office’ on and spent the day of Friday 6th March celebrating what it means to be a woman in the workplace.
A series of talks were held by women for women on various topics relating to the female experience. Guests spoke passionately about the importance of making a professional will, having difficult conversations and dealing with menopause in the workplace. The audience were particularly interested to hear from Lynsey Buckle, Development Manager at Carlisle Youth Zone, about the comparison culture in young girls and the action and support the youth zone are giving to young girls to empower them and build their confidence.
Earlier in the day, Saint & Co invited a mix of female clients and professional friends to join them at Carlisle’s Lumber Lounge for an axe throwing session and lunch was then enjoyed at The Penny Blue, enabling guests to find out more about each other. Later in the day, the team also held a raffle and a game of stand up bingo, all in all raising £500 for Carlisle Youth Zone.
Saint & Co delivered a ground breaking new business and technology event in October, to over 200 business owners.
Sponsored primarily by Xero, AutoEntry and Rocketspark as well as several other great companies, BITE gave clients, colleagues and new friends the opportunity to explore the latest and best in tech all surrounding (and integrating with) the accounting software Xero.
Guests enjoyed talks from keynote speakers Ashleigh Lambert (Xero) and the dynamic duo Andrew & Pete, and were able to attend breakout sessions by Xero, AutoEntry, iwoca and Rocketspark which covered a range of useful topics.
The event enabled business owners to meet likeminded people as well as the Saint & Co team, and representatives from Xero and all the apps.
