Today we want to recognise the accomplishments of one of our own: Daniel Wilde.

Daniel started with us in our Carlisle Office back in 2017. Since joining us, Daniel has been hard at work studying for his qualifications. And on the 11th of May, 2019, he got his just rewards for all his graft and determination.

At the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants Graduation & Prizegiving, Daniel was named 3rd in the Northern Society Professional Stage Order of Merit 2018. The Order of Merit acknowledges the highest achieving students in the North of England.

We are all so incredibly proud of Daniel’s achievement, and so we thought we’d put him on the spot and let him shed some light on his studies, career path, and ambitions.

Congrats again, Daniel! What does this achievement mean to you?

DW: A lot!  It’s great to receive an award recognising the effort I’ve put in, and it’s nice to share the experience with my family.

How did working at Saint & Co. help prepare you for your studies?

DW: It’s a very supportive environment, where I’m given the tools and the support to learn, experience and improve myself.  The work I do is varied and there’s always opportunities to put what I learn in the classroom into practice, which goes a long way to helping you prepare for the ACA exams and life as a Chartered Accountant.

What made you choose this particular career path?

DW: I quite unintentionally fell into a finance role in a previous employment, found that I enjoyed it and wanted to do more, and reach higher. I took myself to college to study accounting and quickly knew that I wanted to become a Chartered Accountant.  I found out about Saint & Co and thought “that’s the place for me”!  Happily, they agreed.

Where to next? What does the future have in store?

DW: It’s quite hard to look much further than the exams I still have to do this year, and getting my ACA qualification. Once qualified, I won’t be in a rush to do more exams any time soon but I look forward to the myriad of opportunities for professional and personal development as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, and at Saint & Co.

What would you say to someone considering applying to work at Saint & Co.?

DW: It’s worth it.  If you’re driven and enthusiastic, and willing to put the effort in, then you’ll find that Saint & Co reciprocate and provide a professional, friendly and supportive environment and plenty of opportunities.

We’re always on the lookout for talented, like-minded individuals to join our team. If you’re interested in pursuing a career in accountancy and you’re eager to make a difference in supporting someone with their business, then we’re ready to talk!
