Many of our clients are now asking what grants they might be entitled to, when they are available and how much they might receive following the Scottish Government announcement just before Christmas regarding grants available to the hospitality and tourism sector. The Scottish Government has allocated funding to support businesses in the hospitality sector who have lost bookings during the December 2021 and January 2022 trading period.
This funding is made up of two separate grants.
To support business (hospitality only) for the loss of bookings as a direct impact of the public health guidance issued on 9th December 2021, a one-off payment at the rate of:
- £4,500 for premises which have a rateable value of up to and including £51,000, or
- £6,800 for premises which have a rateable value of £51,001 or above
To support business (hospitality and leisure) for the loss of business due to physical distancing guidance and restrictions on socialisation announced on 21st Dec, a payment at the rate of:
- £1,400 for premises which have a rateable value of up to and including £51,000, or
- £2,100 for premises which have a rateable value of £51,001 or above
Please note the hospitality top up is a one off payment whilst the hospitality and leisure grant is set up on a 4 weekly basis.
Businesses who have previously been awarded the Strategic Business Framework Grant in 2021 should have already been contacted via email by their local authority with a declaration to complete to apply.
