The government have recently released guidance on business rates relief for nurseries, they will now receive a business rates holiday for 2020/21. Businesses are eligible if:
- They are based in England
- The property is occupied by providers on Ofsted’s Early Years Register
- The property is mainly used for the provision of Early Years Foundation Stage
No action needs to be taken and local authorities should start to re-issue business rates bills to exclude any charges.
